Application requirements for incoming freshmen
At LaGrange College, we recognize you for all that you are – your interests and talents, your adventures and your challenges.
Every student is unique and brings their own perspective and possibilities. While we do consider your GPA (the majority of students have between a 3.2 and a 3.8), we also look at the classes you’ve taken, what cocurricular activities you pursue and what service projects or organizations you take part in.
This may sound fuzzy when you are looking for a concrete answer, but truly, if you feel that LaGrange is the right place for you, we encourage you to apply. Let this be an important life lesson … always try for what you want. You’ll be surprised how often things have a way of working out.
How we calculate GPAs
A student’s grade point average will be recalculated by the Office of Admissions and will be based solely on academic coursework. Academic coursework will only include the following classes:
Prior to enrollment, an applicant is expected to complete graduation requirements from an approved high school. An applicant must submit an official final high school transcript showing date of graduation.
When you submit your application, you will be asked to provide a transcript.
Application requirements for transfer students
To complete your application for transfer admission, submit:
> A completed application for admission.
> Official transcripts from ALL colleges and universities attended. (Note: transcripts for all coursework attempted (regardless of whether or not completed) should be submitted. Also, a final transcript including grades earned for courses currently in progress should be sent as soon as possible once it is available.)
> If requested, college catalogs from specific colleges or universities attended, or current copies of course descriptions from the catalogs with information for all courses taken.
> If you have completed less than 45 quarter or 30 semester hours of transferable college course work, an official high school transcript including SAT or ACT scores.
> The LaGrange College Statement of Good Standing completed by the appropriate official at each college or university attended. The transfer admission review Once the Admission Office has received all of your materials, your completed application file will be reviewed to determine your potential for success at LaGrange. Please note that the cumulative college GPA required of transfer students applying to LaGrange is 2.0 or higher. Transfer applicants must be in good standing and eligible to continue a course of study at the college or university they last attended.
